Description: Ms. Lansche will provide an overview of the GRIEF RECOVERY OUTREACH PROGRAM. She will talk about loss and grief and moving beyond the loss to a place of safety and correct actions. She will present The Grief ? Recovery Program's Open Seminar. In this you will be introduced to the concepts and materials used in the Grief ? Recovery Outreach Program and working one-on-one.
You will learn:

  • Techniques for identifying and resolving loss.
  • The myth surrounding the "5 Stages of Grief".
  • The shared symptoms of clinical depression and unresolved grief.

The program also delineates the solution to dealing with loss as the following: “Recovery from loss is accomplished by discovering and completing all of the undelivered communications that accrue in relationships. We are all advised to “Let Go” and “Move On,” after losses of all kinds. Most of us would do that if we knew how. Completion of pain caused by loss is what allows us to Let Go and Move On. It is almost impossible to Move On without first taking a series of actions that lead to completion. Before taking the actions to complete, it is important to look at and often dismiss some of the ideas for myths that we have tried to use with loss, but are not working.”

Presenter: Ms. Lansche has been working in the field since 1989. She started at Neuse Center and then moved to Craven County Schools to work with high-risk students. She has worked evenings at Chrysalis Counseling Center for the past 10 years "just to keep (her) hands in therapy" and retired from CCS in May of 2009. Ms. Lansche then took a leap of faith and started private practice full time in June 2009 at Chrysalis where she has been working for the past year having “the time of (her) life!” She became a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist at that time and has been incorporating this into the work she does with individuals, couples and families as needed. Ms. Lansche has a history of working with addictions and ACOA/co-dependency issues so the Grief Recovery work has been a natural addition to her practice.
