Description:
Working with minors and adolescents in the counseling
setting presents unique and challenging situations
that counselors must be ready and able to handle effectively.
This workshop will address some key issues including:
informed consent, confidentiality, effectively engaging
teens in the counseling process, individual versus
family sessions, goal setting with this population,
resistance busters, and a discussion of the top three
issues every counselor should address with teens.
Practice techniques and considerations as well as
ethical standards will be discussed. Case studies
and practice models will be explored. This workshop
meets criteria for 3-hr “ethics” continuing
education requirement.
